Blog Roll

Patience is a Virtue

When I told the lovely and long-suffering Mrs. Lobo II that I was going to blog on the subject of patience her sweet laughter could be heard for a 300 mile radius around the Wolf's Den.  She knows me.  Patience is NOT one of my strong points.  Probably has a lot to do with my military years.  I was use to barking out orders and having them obeyed yesterday, if not sooner.  A large part of my impatience has to do with this newfangled contraption of Al Gore and Bill Gates: the internet.  I click on a web page and if it doesn't download in what I perceive to be an acceptable amount of time, I do a lot of left-clicking.  This usually results in the computer locking up.  I then proceed to vocalize my displeasure loudly and in unchristian like language, whilst smashing the keyboard.  After those steps have been quickly and carefully taken, I usually, in a futile gesture, end up mooning my computer monitor.  My monitor has seen my backside more times than my proctologist.

My own impatience aside, I now urge patience to my fellow conservatives.  There's no easy way to say this except to just come out and say it: HILLARY CLINTON WILL BE ELECTED PRESIDENT IN 2008!
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you.  I have said what others dare not.  I say the unspeakable and I think the unthinkable: President Hillary Clinton!!!!

I know, I know, she hasn't announced her candidacy yet and the moonbat MSN has an acute case of Obamaitis, but these things matter not because it will happen.  Mrs. C will run on her own accord while the media pushes Barak el bin Obama to make a run on the Presidency.  This will culminate in a slugfest we will laughingly call the Demobat convention, where the party faithful will elect Clinton as the candidate for President.  She will follow up, more than likely under extreme party pressure, to nominate Obama as her running mate.  Then there you will have it: the perfect minority ticket.  The moonbat MSN will fall all over themselves promoting the Clinton-Obama ticket.  They will all say that here would be the perfect ticket to elect to show how civilized and diverse we are, and not a white guy in the bunch.  Katie Couric and Meredith Viera will wet themselves with anticipation saying how wonderful it is that Mrs. C has followed Nancy (Mama Rosa) Pelosi from the kitchen into the seat of power (Never mind the fact that neither Pelosi or Clinton has ever seen the inside of a kitchen.  Maybe they can get Chelsea pregnant before the fall elections so they can toss the "grandma" clause into the campaign).  Since both Clinton and Obama are Demobats, we can be sure that they wont have any plans or policies or proposals for the country.  Just a slogan: "HAD ENOUGH...OF WHITE GUYS?".  To be sure that will be the entire gist of the campaign.  Don't vote for the Clinton-Obama ticket and you are a male chauvinistic, racist.

The worst part of this whole scenario is that the Republican party has no one to counter this ticket.  In fact, to put it bluntly, we have really no one to run in 2008.  Whom do we have?  John McCain?
John McCain is an ill choice for two reasons: A). he has demonstrated he is a RHINO (Republican in name only) and B). he has demonstrated an ability to shoot himself in the mouth on numerous occasions.

May I be permitted a sidebar here?  I do get tired of the moonbat media constantly referring to McCain as a "war hero".  He is in actuality a "decorated war veteran".  There is a difference.  As one who spent a great deal serving the US in uniform, United States Air Force, thank-you, I can tell you the difference between a "war hero" and a "decorated war hero".  If you want to find out what a real war hero is go to
http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/moh1.htm .  This web site lists every winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor since it's inception in 1861, from the Civil War to the War on Terrorism.  Here you can read the citations that accompanied the award to these brave men.  You'll notice 3 threads that run through the citations.  Either their actions: a). caused great casualties and loss of life to the enemy, or b). saved their comrades and brothers in arms, or sometimes c). all the above.  Now, I give credit where credit is due.  Senator McCain survived 5 and a half years incarcerated in Hanoi Hilton, the worst POW camp ever in recorded history.  We all know the story: when his captors found out he was the son of CINCPAC Admiral John S. McCain they offered to release him.  He would not break faith with those with him in captivity and refused.  He was tortured routinely.  He suffered a hell that only few of us can ever imagine.  Yet for all that happened,  McCain's actions, while bringing credit to himself and the US Navy, did not cause great loss of life to the enemy or save his fellow soldiers in arms.  This is what makes him a decorated war veteran and not a war hero.  (Ah well, at least he has the credentials to back his war service, unlike certain a certain senator from Massachusetts we know.)

Now back to McCain the candidate.  As I said before he is a RHINO.  We all know of his sponsorship of the McCain-Feingold campaign reform legislation which effectively muzzled free speech in campaign elections.  He cosponsored with Ted Kennedy (D-MA) that would expand the use of guest workers visas for illegal immigrants.  He was a member of the infamous "Gang of 14" that created the compromise to end the Demobat filibusters of President Bush's judicial nominations.  He sponsored legislation that severely hampers the ability of interrogators to obtain information from Islamic fascists by giving them POW status thereby giving them protection under the Geneva Convention.  He has flip-flopped on the issue of gay marriages.  He voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment, while supporting the failed Arizona initiative to ban gay marriage.

All this can be tolerated and worked out.  The big problem is the second issue: McCain's mouth.  Ah where to begin...!!!  How about 1998 when he said that: "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."  He later apologized to the Clintons.  Members of "9/11 Families for a Secure America" accused McCain of "screaming at them" during a chance encounter with McCain when they criticized his proposed immigration reform bills, which they felt were not strict enough in stopping terrorists from crossing the southern border.  Of course we all know his recent gaffe.  While being interviewed in Vanity Fair, McCain was asked about an immigration bill (that contained funding for a fence on the Mexican border) and how it played to the Republican base. "In the short term, it probably galvanizes our base," he said. "In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, you'll pay a heavy price. By the way, I think the fence is least effective. But I'll build the goddamned fence if they want it."  Howard Dean eat your heart out!!!

Then we have Mitt Romney.  A likeable kind of guy, who entered the Demobat stronghold of Massachusetts long enough to be governor for one term.  By all accounts he did well, including cutting taxes which reasoned the state a $700 million surplus in 2004 and $500 million surplus in 2005.  He retooled the state's education system and health insurance system without raising taxes.  He opposes gay marriages, is pro-life. and supports the use of surplus embryos from fertility clinics in stem cell research, while being against cloning for the human embryos for such research.  He does have one drawback tho, and the media has already raised the issue: he's a Mormon.  Knowing the moonbat MSN media, they will keep harping on this one issue.  The atheistic media will try to reinvent him in such a way as to be totally unacceptable to evangelical, fundamentalist Christians, the supposed backbone of the Republican party.    After all, who but a bunch of snobbish ,atheist reporters know what's best for us Christians.

I'll take a pass at observations about Rudy Gulliani, another name being tossed about, because he will be a non-factor in 2008.  He has a major in dealing with a terrorist attack in a major city, with minors in reducing crime and increasing city department efficiency.  He is, however, pro-abortion, anti-gun, and supports same sex marriages.  As I said, he will be a non-factor.

All this longwindedness leads me back to my original idea: patience.  We all know that our party has screwed up.  The elections of 2006 proved it and also have neutered us.  We have no strong candidate.  In light of all these events, it would be a good time to go back to the drawing board and figure out what we did wrong.  We need to go back to the ideals of Reagan Republicans: strong defense, small government, low taxes.  We need to learn how to behave like the voters expect us to behave: above corruption , strong in morality and doing whatever it legally takes to protect the Christian faith's right to exist in the US.  We need to identify and get rid of RHINOs in the party.  We need to abandon this asinine idea of "bipartisanship".  I'm sorry, when I elect a Republican to office, I expect him/her to act and vote like one.

If Hillary is elected in 2008 like I believe she will, we'll have at least 4 years to work on our problems.  I give Mrs. C about a 2 year honeymoon with the moonbat media and the American public before the luster starts to fade.  By that time her cut and run policy in Iraq should have reasoned another terrorist attack on US soil and her tax increases should tank the economy.  It will be about this time that even the moonbat MSN will not be able to ignore the dissatisfaction of the American public with the Clinton administration.  That exact moment in time will provide our party another opportunity to step up and lead.

The question is: "Will we be ready?"
